Who is it for?

Workplaces, venues and events where you need to check the temperature of many people at the entrance efficiently — faster and more reliably than with a handheld thermometer.

  • Workplaces
  • Shops and supermarkets
  • Post offices
  • Public buildings
  • Service points
  • Factories and industry
  • Schools and universities
  • Tourist attractions

How does it work?

  • Two camerasThe thermal camera measures temperature, and the depth camera (RGBD) measures the distance to the person.
  • Temperature referenceA passive black body in the camera’s field of view provides a constant reference point that improves measurement accuracy.
  • AIIt finds the reference, the face and the eyes by itself. No manual calibration for each measurement.
  • Measured from the surface of the eyeThe eye gives a measurement that depends less on external conditions than the forehead or the hand.
  • 0.5 sThat is how long it takes to detect the face, measure and save the result.
  • ReportsMeasurement history for reports and analysis.

What do you get?

  • Thermal camera
  • RGB camera with distance measurement
  • Temperature reference — passive black body
  • Computer with the software installed
  • Network equipment and cabling connecting the computer to the cameras and the reference
  • Initial installation
  • Operator training

Research and development project

The development of Therm Check was co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund under the Smart Growth Operational Programme 2014–2020 (POIR), Sub-measure 1.1.1. Project: “Miniaturisation and expansion of a contactless temperature measurement system” (Polish title: „Miniaturyzacja oraz rozbudowa systemu bezdotykowego pomiaru temperatury”). Project value: PLN 1,140,250.00, EU co-financing: PLN 732,150.00.

Project results: a miniaturised central unit and a decision algorithm that takes estimated age and pulse into account when assessing temperature.

FAQ

Is Therm Check a medical device?

No. It is used for contactless initial temperature screening and does not replace a medical measurement.

Do people have to stand still?

It is enough to look towards the camera from a distance of 0.7–3 m; measuring and saving the result takes about 0.5 s.
